WWE Judgment Day  Pay-Per-View

Location: Scottrade Center, St. Louis, MO

by "Rockin" Robin Drodge

Event Date:  May 20, 2007

Match number one - (RAW).  Carlito vs. Ric Flair. This was the opening match at Judgment Day. It was all right. The ending came when Ric Flair applied the figure-four leg lock on Carlito to make him tap out to the move to win the match.

Match number two - (ECW). ECW World Championship Three On One Handicap Match. ECW World Champion Vince McMahon, Shane McMahon and Umaga vs. Bobby Lashley. This match was all right. The ending came when Bobby Lashley hit a power slam on Shane McMahon to pick up the pin-fall victory. After the match, Vince McMahon announced that Bobby Lashley didn't win the ECW Championship because he did not defeat Vince.

Match number three - (ECW). C.M. Punk vs. Elijah Burke. This match was all right. The ending came when C.M. Punk picked up the pin-fall victory on Elijah Burke.

Match number four - (RAW). Randy Orton vs. Shawn Michaels. This match was all right. The ending came when Shawn Michaels attempted to hit the Sweet Chin Music but he couldn't do it. After this attempt, the Referee decided to stop the match; therefore the winner of the match is Randy Orton.

Match number five - (RAW). World Tag Team Championship: World Tag Team Champions, Matt and Jeff (The Hardy's) vs. Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch. This match was all right. The ending came when The Hardy's hit the twist of fate on Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch, which was then followed up by the Swanton Bomb to pick up the pin-fall victory to retain their Championship.

Match number six - (SmackDown). World Heavyweight Championship: World Heavyweight Champion Edge vs. Batista.

This match was all right. The ending came when Batista attempted to hit a spine buster, however Edge rolled him up to pick up the pin-fall victory to retain his Championship.

Match number seven - (SmackDown). Two out of Three Falls United States Championship Match: United States Champion, Chris Benoit vs. Montel Vontavious Porter (MVP).

This was a pretty good match. MVP hit the Playmaker on Chris Benoit to pick up the pin-fall victory to win the first fall, and then in the second fall hit a Small Package to pick up the pin-fall victory to become the new United States Champion.

Match number eight - The Main Event - (RAW) WWE Championship: WWE Champion, John Cena vs. The Great Khali.

This match was all right. The ending came when John Cena applied the STF on The Great Khali to make him tap out to the move to retain his Championship.

Some additional comments regarding Judgment Day.

There was no announcement about how many fans were in attendance, so I can only assume that this Pay-Per-View was not sold out. It has been reported on the Internet that Shawn Michaels will be having knee surgery, I assume this is why the match ended the way that it did. I suspect he will be out of action for a period of time.
