WWE "New Year's Revolution"

Location: Kansas City, MO

The Kemper Arena

by 'Rockin' Robin Drodge

Event Date:  January 7, 2007

Match number one - A Steel Cage match for the Intercontinental Championship.

Intercontinental Champion Jeff Hardy, vs. Johnny Nitro (with Melina in his corner).  This match was the opening match at New Year’s Revolution and it was all right.  The ending came when Jeff Hardy was able to get out of the cage by going through the door; therefore he wins the Match and retains his Championship.

Match number two - A Tag Team Turmoil match.

The Highlanders vs. Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas, vs. “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan and Super Crazy, vs. Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch, and Cryme Tyme.  The rule for this match was that two Tag Teams would start the match; once a Team got eliminated by pin-fall or submission another Team would enter the ring until all Teams entered.  The match started with the Highlanders wrestling Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas.  The Highlanders got pinned; which meant they were eliminated from the match.  The next Team to enter the ring was “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan and Super Crazy.  “Hacksaw” Jim Duggan and Super Crazy were pinned; which meant they were eliminated.  The next Team to enter the ring was Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch.  Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch pinned Shelton Benjamin and Charlie Haas; which meant they were eliminated.  The final Team to enter the ring was Cryme Tyme; in which they pinned Lance Cade and Trevor Murdoch to win the Match for their Team.  They will now receive a World Tag Team Championship match against the World Tag Team Champions.

Match number three - Ric Flair vs. Kenny Dykstra.

This match was all right.  The ending came when Kenny Dykstra hit Ric Flair with a Low Blow, which was followed up with a Roll Up to pick up the pin-fall victory.

Match number four - WWE Women’s Championship.

WWE Women’s Champion Mickie James vs. Victoria.  This match was all right.  The ending came when Victoria attempted a Power Slam, however Mickie reversed into in the DDT to pick up the pin-fall victory to retain her Championship.

Match number five - World Tag Team Championship.

World Tag Team Champions Edge and Randy Orton, vs. Triple H and Shawn Michaels (D-Generation X).  This match was all right.  The ending came when Shawn Michaels hit the Referee and then brought a steel chair into the ring to use it on both Randy Orton and Edge.  The match did not have a winner, so I can only assume that this was declared a No Contest.

Match number six - Carlito (with Torrie Wilson in his corner) vs. The “Master Piece” Chris Masters.

This match was all right.  The ending came when Chris Masters pinned Carlito.

Match number seven - The Main Event, WWE Championship.  WWE Champion John Cena vs. Umaga (with Armando Alejandro Estrada in his corner).  This match was all right.  The ending came when John Cena rolled up Umaga to pick up the pin-fall victory to retain his Championship.

Some additional comments regarding New Year’s Revolution.

There was no announcement of how many fans were in attendance for this Pay-Per-View so I can only assume that this was not a sell out.
